Christmas in Virginia with Gma Trudy and Gpa Mark!

Grandma Trudy and Grandpa Mark flew out from California to spend the coldest 7 days of the year with us for Christmas!

As usual they were helpful and fun and went along with our plans. Mom made delicious, healthy, veggie-filled dinners (including my favorite fish tacos) and Dad read books and played puzzles with the kids. Outings included The Jefferson Hotel, the rooftop restaurant at Pit and Peel for their tabletop s'mores, Miracle of Christmas at the zoo (everyone's fav part was the camels!), going on a drive to see Christmas lights, Cabella's, the Great Big Greenhouse, and Mom and I went out one freezing night (it was about 15°) to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden to see the lights (loved it), went on a walk and skipped rocks on the frozen lake, and more. On Christmas Eve we had a big special dinner, and opened one present each. Lydia and Luke chose to open their gifts from Heidi and Mike!

The kids had an amazing Christmas morning. Lydia was very excited about getting the giant stuffed unicorn she'd asked Santa for, and Luke was super excited about his new kid-sized wheel barrow! The first thing he said when he came downstairs was "thank you!!!" 🥹 He is the sweetest.

Elise wasn't quite ready to get up but quickly got into the spirit when Matt pulled Veggie Straws out of her stocking. :)

It was a merry Christmas and we're all so glad my parents came to spend it with us!
