Lukey at 9 Months

Last week, Luke turned 9 months old! We love him so much.

On his 9 month birthday, on the way home from dropping Lyd at preschool, we stopped by a little farm around the corner from our house. They have the most beautiful u-pick sunflower fields - perfect for pictures!

Here's a little update about our Lukey.

At 22 lbs and 29 in long, he's in the 90th percentile! Every doctor appointment shows him in a higher percentile. He started out as a little guy - just over 6 lbs at birth - but is so big now! He's been growing FAST.

Eats more than Lydia as of this week (I cannot keep up with his appetite, so... we're weaning!)

We started weaning and he takes a bottle pretty well (not for full feedings yet - working on it)

We call him Lukey more often than Luke

Takes 2 naps per day

Consistently wakes once per night - working on cutting this out. Sleeps about 10 hours.

Is happiest outside and loves evening walks around our neighborhood.

Belly crawls really fast

Has 6 teeth (2 are just popping through and aren't showing in this pic... but they're there!)

He is all about CLIMBING! He pulls to standing on everything and can climb up our whole staircase in less than a minute. We had to put another baby gate at the bottom of the stairs because he kept going up the second we'd turn out backs.

Busted through the gate and zoomed up the stairs!

Loves his 'flying saucer' walker. He zooms around all over the place, and even runs and glides, dragging his toes! It's so funny!

Loves crawling into bathrooms, which is so gross. We have to keep all the bathroom doors closed or else he'll immediately speed-crawl into the bathroom and start climbing on the tub, toilet, etc. 

Favorite foods are cheerios, cheese, strawberries, bananas, and fruit packs. 

Lydia is protective of him and frequently sets him back down if he pulls up to standing. That makes him mad. :) She always lets me know if he grabs something he's not supposed to have.

He's a happy, chill, chubby, round-headed guy and we're so glad he's in our family!
