Summer 2024
Mostly, we spent the summer cuddling baby Vivian.
But also...
- Lydia's baptism! Mike, Heidi, Zac, Whitney, Stanton, Lucy and Tommy all came out for it. It was beautiful and perfect. So many people came that there was standing room only in the back! Zac, Whitney and the cousins stayed the weekend to attend the baptism and baby blessing. Heidi and Mike stayed a few days longer.
- Vivian's baby blessing. It was so sweet! She wore the same blessing dress that Lydia and Elise wore.
- Elise turned three! We had five neighborhood friends over for singing and cake, and our whole fam went to see The Lion King together (original re-released in theaters.)
- Lydia's first year on swim team. She did great and majorly improved!
- Luke LOVED his swim lessons with Charlie, and passed his swim test after just 4 lessons!! He couldn't wait to go down the big slide!!
- Lydia turned 8 (lots of celebrations including her HP birthday party w Emmi)
- Grandma Trudy came out for a second visit to help.
- Grandpa Mark came out for a week while Trudy was in London.
- VBS summer camps! Three for Lydia, two for Luke, and one for Elise.
- Lydia got her braces off!
- Our 'summer' vacation was in September: a trip to Newport Beach, California to visit new baby cousins Sam, George, and Jordan!
- Got two new AC systems... it was an all-day installation on a hot, 100°+ day in July. Phew!
Learning about baking bread and how the yeast makes it rise (especially on a hot, humid summer day!)
Activity Girls summer day camp! SO fun!
Lydia's birthday
Gma Trudy took the big girls to The Boathouse to celebrate both of their birthdays!
Making pesto with our garden basil!
She didn't want to smile... until she opened her Bingo toy!
Little VBS campers
Zoo day camp!
Swim meet!
Luke drew a picture of Vivian (see the pacifier in her mouth?)
Smothering the baby with love
Picnic with neighborhood friends!
Luke's craft using feathers from the lake. He asked me to draw these specific types of birds. :)
Laura Branch meeting Viv
Luke has been the most loving big bro!
Signs that the kids made when we brought Viv home from the hospital. We kept them up all summer.
