Lydia + Emmi's Harry Potter 8th Birthday Party

We didn't expect rain in the middle of May, but it didn't dampen the celebrations a bit!

Despite the continual drizzle it all came together beautifully. It only made sense to combine their party since almost all of their friend groups overlap, they both wanted a water slide, and they've been playing together basically every day since the fall (Emmi is over so often we joke that she's our honorary child!)

The cakes that Laura (Branch) made were incredible! A replica of the Hagrid cakes from the HP movies for each of the girls, plus chocolate sorting hat cupcakes with surprise colored icing inside to sort each guest into a house. So fun!

For over two hours, more than 20 of Lydia and Emmi's friends from school, church, and our neighborhood played on a giant Hogwarts-esque bounce house and water slide. We didn't even need to turn on the hose!

At the end of the day, Lydia flopped on the couch, smiling, and said "that was the best party ever." And that about sums it up. :)
