February

February was the snowiest month we've had in years! We had two big multi-day snow storms, and the kids missed several days of school. They loved it! ...at first. But by about mid-month, we were all done with it, ready for warmer days and getting back to the school routine. On the many snow days the kids played outside with neighborhood friends, watched movies, and went to Vikki's (where she did crafts, baking and science experiments with them and Soren!), and I did a lot of cooking. One day I took the kids and Emmi to the pool at the Y for a couple hours (while Viv got to nap happily in the child watch!) I learned that I am someone who really loves a snowy day - but also loves when it melts and goes away the next day.

Valentine's Day was a big deal around here! Matt took Lydia to the elementary school's annual dance ❤️ for the 3rd year in a row. She got all dressed up (hair, nails, a sparkly dress, even a little makeup!) and looked adorable. Matt also met her for lunch at school one day and brought Chic Fil A, for their annual Valentine's Day lunch date. :) Another day, Lydia and I went to a fun Galentines get-together at the Nicols' with a bunch of moms and their third-grade girls. And of course the kids all picked out fun Valentines to share with their classmates. 💕

Vivian turned 8 months old! She started Army-crawling all over the place and is getting really fast. She tried all sorts of new solid foods and likes applesauce pouches, cheerios, teething crackers, and whatever little pieces of our meals we share with her. We got some foam play-blocks that she loves crawling all over. She's my little sidekick while the kids are at school / preschool, and enjoys hanging out at the gym's child watch 2 mornings mornings a week. She's a regular over there now!

Lydia started Girls on the Run and is loving it!

Lydia made us dinner one night, complete with menus and place cards.
She chose mac'n'cheese (from scratch!) with roasted broccoli, and cookies for dessert.
