December

  • All things Christmas!
    • Preschool performances! Vikki came to see them and said she hadn't been back since retiring.
    • The Nutcracker with Brooke and Indy!
    • Agecroft Hall's Christmas event one Sunday afternoon. We met Father Christmas!
    • Matt took Lyd and Luke to meet Santa at Cabella's (Elise didn't want to go).
    • Elementary school Jingle Bell Run
    • Matt was the mystery reader in Lydia's class and read The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
    • Christmas lights at the DC temple with cousins on Dec 26!
    • Sent 120 Christmas cards
    • Made cookies to deliver to 19 neighbors along with our card (second year doing this and still loving it!)
    • Christmas parties!
  • Cousin Dottie was born! She brings the total to FIVE new cousins this year!
    • Lyd said Vivian is very lucky because she has five cousins the same age as her.
  • Vivian is 6 months old!!
    • 55% height
    • 46% weight
    • Rolling all over the place, but still doesn't want to sit up!
    • Loves teething toys
    • Not sure about solid food yet
    • Still likes to be swaddled while sleeping
  • It was just our family for Christmas, which turned out to be really low-stress and fun.
  • Sibling gift exchange on Christmas Eve!! This was new this year and Lyd and Luke got into it!
They were so excited to give each other (and Mom and Dad) what they picked out at the dollar store haha. Lyd made me a tie-blanket, and painted / decorated a carriage toy for Elise. Luke and Elise picked things out at the dollar store for their siblings haha. So fun!!
  • On Christmas Day the kids got up around 7:30. Santa came!! They each got a 'big gift' along with their stocking: a 'faux bow and arrow' set for Luke, a play school kit for Lydia, and a comfy reading chair for Elise! After opening presents, Elise sat in her chair and did sticker books with Lydia for hours. Meanwhile Luke and Matt played bow and arrows outside. Vivian rolled around on the floor and played with her toys. I went back and forth between everyone. Later we switched gears and played school - Lydia was the teacher of course! Matt got in trouble and Lyd had him sit in the time out chair. I failed a spelling test Lydia gave me. A little later Luke and I snuck up on Matt and tried to hit him with the faux bow but missed about 100 times haha. Luke said he was like Samuel the Lamanite hahahaha. Then I shot Matt from way across the yard!!! Honestly it was a really fun day.
  • Gma Trudy and Gpa Mark visited the week after Christmas! We started their trip by going to The Jefferson and Quirk to see the Christmas decorations! Followed by lunch at Lolita's which was fun. Mom was delighted by a cone parade on Cary St. haha. Love having them here!
