May included lots of end-of-year school events, and lots of playing outside! I also wrapped up teaching two sections of Comm 141 for UAF. I loved it and am excited to teach again in the fall!
Lydia ran the zoo's 1-mile kids race again with Matt and a bunch of friends, and did great! She ran the whole way and finished super strong.

Luke finished his first season of soccer! It was so fun he could do it with Lev. :) So glad they let him on the same team even though Luke was a year younger than all the teammates! The whole fam went to all his games to cheer him on, rain or shine. :)
Elise finished her first year of preschool! It was such a great experience for her. She loved her teachers, playing with friends, and doing crafts! Luke went to the same preschool as her (they went Tues / Thurs mornings) in a different classroom. He went to his usual preschool on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Last day with Ms Amber, who was wonderful! He loved going on nature walks with his class in the forest behind the school. |
 |
Out to lunch with Erin, Hazel and Lev one day after preschool! Luke remembered from last year and asked if we could do it again. :) |
Luke had his last day with Ms. Marlene and Ms. Cameron which was so sad - we've loved them! For the last two years they've been the absolute best, and got him through a tough transition to preschool during his first year. Luckily Elise will get Ms. Marlene next year in the same classroom! We're so sad Ms. Cameron is retiring.
Gma Trudy and Gpa Mark were here for Luke's last day performance and art show! :)
Lydia's last day of second grade ended with the annual party at the bus stop! The neighborhood moms had super soakers, popsicles, music, and balloons ready to go when they got off the bus. Gpa Mark, Matt and Luke even got to go! We'll miss seeing all these kids every morning!
 |
Last day of the 23-24 school year bus stop party! We have a great group of kids and families at our stop that we love to see every morning. This is about half of the kids. |
 |
Second grade class end-of-year field trip to Maymont! With some of her best friends from this year. |
The plants Matt and the kids started from seed are getting huge! Everyone likes to water them and check on them every day. My favorites are the jasmine and rhubarb. The kids like the peas and Jerusalem artichokes bc they're getting so tall! We've already been able to give away cilantro and chives to neighbors because we have so much, use basil on our pizzas, and cut roses to bring in the house. The hydrangea, wildflowers, carrots, lavender and tomatoes will be ready soon!

First ice cream truck of the summer! Basically a block party when it pulled up in our front yard. :) |
 |
Elise got sick again 😥 She gets every bug that goes around! |
Lydia has been into baking lately using the cook book she got for Easter. She also had a bread making night at Activity Girls! Meanwhile, Matt and Luke went fishing one night for Young Mens. Luke caught two fish and was really excited!

| Elise made 'cookies' with kinetic sand. :) |

| FaceTiming Grammie Heidi on Mother's Day 💕 |
Lydia had her piano recital with Mrs. Krauss (which happened to be the morning of Lyd and Emmi's birthday party!), started her FIRST year of swim team, and joined the 10 miler club at Running Club! Ten miles is a lot of laps around the bus loop haha.

| Ready for summer! |
