May 🌼

It turns out that when you have kids in school, May is a very busy month. This year we learned that by experience haha. This month was packed with end-of-year activities for school and every extra curricular - with lots of time outside in the sunshine too!

Luke's end-of-year preschool ice cream party!
His face when we asked him to smile.. haha

After the party Erin and I took the boys out to lunch!

Matt took Luke on the YM fishing trip.

One Saturday Matt had to work so I took the kids to Fossil beach!
It was a lot of driving, and the amount of gear it required was unbelievable. 😅
But it was worth it!

Hooded towels forever 🥹

We watched King Charles III's Coronation! I actually cried, it was so beautiful.

Lydia decided to make her own Union Jack. :)

Lydia had her FIRST piano recital!
With a couple of her piano besties. :)

 She played beautifully!
She played two songs and introduced them all by herself.

Ms. Amberlie was a great teacher and Lydia loved
going to her house for lessons every week of 1st grade -
especially since she saw friends there too!
SUCH a fun way to introduce her to music. :)

Elise and I went to the gym 2 or 3 times a week
this school year. Her gym buddy Hazel
(and her mom Erin!) made it so fun!

Luke had his preschool end-of-year art show and singing performance.
We love Ms. Marlene and Ms. Cameron!

Luke was so proud of himself! 🥹

Got so big this year

Ready for field day at preschool!

The last day of Ms. Stefanie's was a water day too!

We have LOVED Ms. Stefanie's preschool this year!
It was exactly what we needed on Tues/Thurs mornings.
We will miss it!!

Daily trip to the bus stop. This day Luke pushed his baby :)

The joyful reunion after school!
I LOVE that Lydia RAN up to me from the bus every day
and body slammed me into a big hug! 😄 Wish I had a pic of me and her like this!

First grade picnic!

Lydia got the "Fun Dip award!"
For being fun-loving and her love of learning.
That's her!

Mrs. Moore has been the best teacher this year!
So grateful Lyd got to be in her class. 💕

First grade musical performance!
They sang "Swamped" - it was adorable! Even though Matt and I
had to take turns with the little kids out in the hallway.

Lydia earned free tickets to a Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball game by reading 8 books at school.
Matt took her and Luke! It was the elementary school reading night so lots of friends were there.
Luke came home all confused and said, "the squirrels didn't fly!?!"
We weren't sure what he was expecting haha!

Bday party!
In the play house with Adhrira and Aurora, Lydia's first grade BFFs.

They look like Disney princesses ☺️

Mother's Day! Matt and the kids made brownies for Sundaes that day.
I had to give a talk in church that morning haha.
But it was a good day. :)

FaceTiming Grammie Heidi shortly after brownie making 😆

Delivering Mother's Day flowers to Vikki 💐💖

Vikki and Einor took down their old play house.
Matt and the kids got to help!

Back yard play date with Jenny and Eleanor :)

Play date w Jane!

Father of the Year!
Matt mowing with Elise.

Luke finally decided how to spend his Christmas money - on a blue RC car truck!
He was SO EXCITED, I've never seen him happier. He was elated, running around the house
making it go.

Luke and Elise found a baby turtle while taking their bunnies on a walk.

For our TEN YEAR anniversary, we took a family trip to the Omni Homestead Resort over Memorial Day Weekend!

Luke's favorite part by far was the new dump truck he got at the gift shop.

Lydia's favorite part was the pool!

My favorite part was Matt winning the resort's trivia competition.
(I contributed one answer haha)
We won this impossible 500-piece puzzle haha.

Breakfast on the balcony watching a rain storm

Hanging out while Matt and the big kids played mini golf

Matt's favorite part was playing mini golf with Lydia and Luke.
We didn't get a picture of that. :)

...his other favorite part was sleeping. :)

Free caricatures haha

Bring on summer!

Prepping for summer with fresh chore charts!
They started off with lots of enthusiasm for these. :)
