April 🌷 Easter, Mom's Visit, Richmond Temple Opening!

The big events in April were Mom's visit, her birthday, Easter, and the Richmond Temple open house!  And they all overlapped in one weekend haha. 😅

Mom's Visit and Easter!

Mom came to visit for the kids' spring break!
She was here for a week including Easter Sunday - which was also her birthday!
During the week I had a plan to go see flowers blooming all around Richmond (spring is the best here!) We went to a few spots but it was tough with all 3 kids, plus Mom had bad allergies to all the pollen. So we ended up staying home more than expected but everyone was happy with that. It's always the best when Grandma Trudy visits, and we always really miss her when she goes!!

Easter dinner :)

Lydia, Grandma Trudy and I made a gluten-free carrot cake for Mom's birthday!

The Elise-ter Bunny!
With Pink Bunny - still her favorite lovey.

Opening Easter baskets!

Easter egg hunt!

As we were getting into the car for church,
this bunny ran right though our yard!

Easter family pic :)

Mom, Lydia and I went out to dinner Friday night at The Boathouse
for an early bday dinner. :) Fun girls night!

One morning we went to Shoo Fly Farm!
The kids' favorite part was riding horses.

A goat eating Mom's bag.

Poor Elise!

Back at home - Grandma is always very popular. :)
She helped Lyd get to level 10 on Lexia!

One day we went to Agecroft Hall! The flowers were all blooming and beautiful,
but within 5 minutes of arriving all 3 kids were crying about different things, and we saw a big snake.
We stayed about 7 minutes haha.

Matt set up a fire pit and s'mores for us one night.

Luke wasn't sure at first...

But then he loved it. :)

Rain walk!

Richmond Temple Open House!

The day before Easter we met Zac, Whitney and the cousins at the Richmond Temple to tour the open house! We'd been looking forward to it for over a year. It was a little wild with 6 little kids but still the best memory. So special that these cousins have now toured two temples together! Mom was a great sport and came along too. So sad we didn't get a pic together!

All the cousins in front of the Richmond Temple!

After we went to a playground for a while!

Chesterfield Berry Farm

One afternoon we went to Chesterfield Berry Farm to pick strawberries

Her chubby arms 💕

Someone was ready to go home. :(
I made 2 big, yummy strawberry crisps with all these berries!

Lydia has been powering through her reading program - Lexia!
She gets a certificate printed at school every time she completes a level and
is racing friends. :) She's doing great!

And Luke is really into puzzles these days!
He started with 12 pieces...

...then 36, and then 48 piece puzzles!
He usually needs a little help but does great. It's so fun. 😊
Also, see the Cardinal in the feeder?

Lyd slid this note under the door while I was showering:
"Please unlock the door Mommy." 😂
Luke added the scribbles.

We got to visit the MacDonalds' new puppy, Maverick!

Luke still LOVES going to Ms. Stephanie's on Tues/Thurs mornings, especially now that they have the puppy. :) She does the most creative, fun activities and sends the best pics! It is pure sunshine. :)

Playing with Caroline

One morning on our way to school/work, Matt drove his car into mine.
Everyone was OK, but Matt's car door wouldn't close. Someone came to fix it so both cars are drivable. But both cars need major repairs, ugh!

Elise was ready to get out.
Dogwood and Azalea are blooming all over right now!

Bike rides with Lyd 💕
So fun that she's old enough now.

Bike rides with all 3 are fun too!

Finally warm enough to play in the sprinkler!
Luke stuck his head in the water and said
"I'm in the shower! Juuuuust a miiiiiiinute!" the way I do. 😂

Luke and Elise both wanted to sit on Daddy's lap at church. :)

Elise smirking because she's putting her popsicle on her toes,
and she knows she's not supposed to do that. 😆

Lydia's class had their first off-site field trip. They went to Maymont!
