Luke at 18 Months

Luke is just shy of 18 months and, without a doubt, at his most adorable stage yet.

Measurements at his 18 month check up have him in the 89th percentile for weight and 70th percentile for height. Still big and tall!

He loves chocolate and playing outside and giving big hugs. His best friend is Daddy.

He's still super chill, cuddly, and pleasant, just like always. We love that about him. Recently he's had a development growth spurt, including tons of new words, opening the front door to try to escape, wanting to explore more, waving at everyone, sitting (briefly) to read stories, etc. He is SO fun right now!

He said "uh-oooooooh"

So pleased with himself 🤣

He's trying SO hard to talk! He has a new word every day. His latest are "uh-oh!" "bah" (bath), "ah" (again),  "ba-bo" (blanket), "da-che" (chocolate), "boo-boo" (baby), "schooo" (shoe) "mmmmmmuah!" (when he gives us a kiss) "fshhh" (fish, at the preschool fish tank) and still says "mama," "dada," and "baba" ALL the time. He can copy pretty much any words or sounds. And he SINGS! He follows tunes and it's the cutest. One day I sang the ABC song and he stopped, ran up to his room, and got our ABC book! Baby genius!

He's super into lift-the-flaps books, and any with noises/songs. I'll sing a song from a book (like a nursery rhyme) and he'll go "ah!" (again!) and kick his legs happily when I start singing again. THE BEST.

He is permanently attached to his baba and prefers milk over anything.

And he cannot live without Dada. Every time Matt leaves, he cries and runs around the house yelling "Dada!" and is ecstatic when Matt comes home.

He loves anything with water. :) The kitchen sink. Puddles. His new flower bath toy that shoots out a shower.

During the quiet hour or so after we drop Lyd at preschool and before his nap

He still sleeps about 11 hrs a night, plus a 1.5 hr nap in the morning when Lyd's at preschool. He dropped his afternoon nap for a while, but I think he still needs it! Working on getting that back into our routine...

And as always, he's happiest outside.

It feels like Luke has been in our family forever. It's a little bit wild to think he's only 1.5.

We love our Luke so much!!
