Showered
You know it was a good party when you're still happily flipping through pictures almost two weeks later.
Ellen, Sarah, and my mom outdid themselves with the theme, decorations, food, and conspicuous lack of silly baby shower games. Mom even pulled out the fine China.
All thirty-five guests (new friends, old friends, and family members from both my and Matt's side of the family) had fun but no one had a better time than Lydia and her little girl friends who played, jumped on furniture, and ate cookies for two hours straight. It took her three days to recover from it all. She still talks about it every day.
Do you want to see a video walk-through of my parents' house just before everyone arrived? I've watched it a dozen times.
A special shout-out to Stacy and Bethany who traveled so far to be there. And a sleepover with them in my living room for two nights was just what I needed. We miss them already.
Brett's Exit: A Royal Affair will go down as one of the happiest memories during our year as Californians. Thank you to everyone who showered us with love!
This was about 3/4 of the group. Wish we'd gotten a picture with everyone! Also, if you look closely you can see Lydia's blue lips from eating her weight in Union-Jack-colored sugar cookies. Photo credit goes to Stacy!

It was all in the details. That wicker basinet-turned-gift-holder was the cradle that Sarah, Ellen and I used as babies.
