Getting Settled in California + Jenica and Jordan's Wedding!
A little catch up / photo dump and organization here since there's been a lot going on in the last 6 weeks. Moving from Va to Ca, getting settled into our new apartment, weekend in Monterey to celebrate our 6-year anniversary, Easter, Lydia starting preschool (at a wonderful, wonderful school down the street - we're all delighted), sharing the news of the newest Neuffer on the way (!), saying goodbye to Matt, continuing work, and trying (trying!) to get into a routine.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, Lydia and I flew to Portland for a quick weekend for Jenica and Jordan's wedding!
Getting Settled
Lydia and I flew, and Matt drove with all of our stuff. Mike drove with him most of the way. We shipped one car, hauled the other on a trailer.
It was pretty easy as far as cross-country moves go.
Exploring the Bay Area
Local parks, Oakland for Sarah's house and also to meet up with Matt's cousins and baby Greta!, restaurants galore, etc.
Monterey Weekend
We celebrated our 6 year anniversary a few weeks early with a trip to Monterey and Carmel. So beautiful and just enough beach time. Thanks to my parents for watching Lyd!
Lydia Started Preschool
We are all so happy about this! The amazing staff was SUPER accommodating to our military situation and let her join the class mid-school year.
She loves going to school and made friends right away. She's already learning so much: they have butterflies in the classroom that she gets to watch grow from caterpillars, a garden, a music teacher, daily jobs, lessons (she's already learned the days of the week!) etc. It's exactly what we needed! And she loves getting dressed up every day.
I think we are both going to cry when we have to leave it next year...
Easter
We got to go to church with our wonderful new ward (and the ward photographer casually took this photo of us), and then had an egg hunt at my parents' house. Later we hosted my parents and Sarah at our new apartment for Easter dinner.
Grateful to be able to celebrate our Savior's resurrection all together!
Baby #2 Announcement
Yes, it's a low quality picture, but a high quality announcement. We were so happy to finally share.
Baby BROTHER coming in October, and we couldn't be more excited!
J&J's Wedding in Portland!
We were so glad that Lydia and I could be there for Jenica and Jordan's beautiful wedding in Portland!
They were married on the same day as us (May 4!), in the same temple. :) So it was the best way to celebrate Matt's and my anniversary, even if he couldn't be there for it! So happy for you, J&J!
Lydia couldn't get enough of Jenica's dress, and when J came out of the temple Lyd ran up, past everyone, shouting "I have a beautiful dress too!!"
Fun surprise: the rental car place gave us a free upgrade to a Range Rover!
