Pre-Thanksgiving Update
Hi friends! To make sure our upcoming Thanksgiving / pre-Christmas blog post doesn't have 5000 pictures, a pre-Thanksgiving update is in order!
The biggest news? Matt got his Army position!! There was A LOT of anxiety around this because there are significant changes going on the ROTC program / US Army / USA in general and we were told that not everyone would get active duty ("active duty" = a full time job after commissioning. "Commissioning" = gradation). So there was a lot of time spent creating a backup-plan, stressing, and checking calendars for the day when we would be told his placement - which was delayed twice. Talk about stressful!
After waiting for this news since summer, we found out last week that Matt is one of only about 45% of cadets who DID get active duty!! Phew! It's all due to the hard work and leadership Matt has put in over the years. He was placed in the Transportation Corps, one of his top choices, and will start training sometime next summer. In spring we'll find out where we'll be stationed. :) We both feel SO relieved and a lot calmer now that we're able to make a plan for the next few years. There have been SO MANY moving pieces reecntly... the extra stability of knowing his placement was definately welcomed.
Speaking of moving pieces, we got all settled into our gorgeous new apartment. I am still in the honeymoon phase of loving our new place! It's worlds better than where we were!

Here's what else we've been up to in one sentence or less per picture :)
Temple date!
SNOW.
Not a ton, but I love it :)
At first Barkley was unsure...
But then he got used to it

Someone left the sprinklers on!
A break in the snow meant a big turnout at Doggy Bros, our dog meetup group!
It's my favorite club ever
Getting locked out after a run, and then crawling back in through a window, is only cool if you can get the screen back on after… whoops!
And, these exist. Highly recommended! :)
Beside our move and the good news about Matt's career, things continue to be out-of-control hectic around here between work, school, and life. It's exhausting and we're both looking forward to the short break Thanksgiving will bring. Excited to see my family too. :) Happy Thanksgiving!
